Paralyzed musician Jason Becker plans to release new album with fans’ help

The American guitar virtuoso and composer Jason Becker, who has been suffered from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis for more than 27 years, reported that he had written enough material for a full-length album, which he plans to record by many of his fellow musicians.

In his video message, Becker asks everyone to support this project financially. In return for help, the musician will give T-shirts, signed CDs, references in the album’s credits and the guitar signed by the rock guitarist John Bonamassa.

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease is an incurable degenerative disease of the central nervous system, diagnosed in 1989 to 20-year-old Jason Becker, who at that time gained fame by his musical career in the band Cacophony and collaboration with the musicians David Lee Roth and Marty Friedman. In spite of the paralysis and the inability to speak, the guitarist continued to compose and record music using the computer and taking help by his fellow musicians. After the onset of the disease, he has released five solo albums.
