​"The End is Near": Slayer announces farewell world tour

The American thrash metallers Slayer have announced farewell world tour. This became known due to unveiled video, informing that the band is "to make its exit with one final world tour".

Slayer is an American thrash metal band, founded in 1981. The band led the musical movement of American thrash metal after the release of its 1986’s album "Reign in Blood" which is considered the band's best achievement and "thrash metal classics". Together with Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax, Slayer are included into "The Big Four of Thrash Metal".

In 2015, Slayer released the 11th full-length album "Repentless" which became the band's first release recorded with Exodus’ Gary Holt after the death of the band’s former guitarist Jeff Hanneman.

In 2015 and 2016, Slayer presented a trilogy of cinematic video clips — "Repentless", "You Against You", and "Pride In Prejudice", which featured well-known actors Jason Trost ("Axe 3"), Danny Trejo ("Machete"), as well as Bill Moseley ("House of 1000 Corpses", "The Devil's Rejects"), Caroline Williams ("Axe 3") and Richard Speight, Jr. ("CSI", "Jericho", "Supernatural").

In January 2017, Dark Horse Comics released "Slayer: Repentless" comics which became an expansion of Slayer's "Repentless" videos.
